Dr Anita Saxena is an Associate Professor in the department of Nephrology, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate institute Of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. She did her higher education from Cambridge University, England. She was awarded Scholarship from the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals, Cambridge University and Commonwealth Scholarship on her meritorious carrier for higher education. She was also awarded Lundgren Scholarship from Cambridge University for continuing her education at Cambridge. She is an MD (AM) and has two doctorates to her credit, one from India and the other from Cambridge, England). She did her postdoctoral training at Cambridge University and Addenbrooks Hospital, Endocrinology Unit, Growth Clinic. She was awarded International Woman of the year 1999-2000, by International Biographical Center, Cambridge England 1999-2000. She is recipient of 20th Century Achievement Award for her contribution to Human Biology. She is Life Member of Research Board of Advisors American Biographical Institute USA and is also on Advisory Council of International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England. Her works have been awarded and her area of focus is body composition, malnutrition in chronic kidney disease (CKD), and prevention of intradialytic hypotension by blood volume monitoring in patients on maintenance dialysis. She is recipient of Young Scientist Award from Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi.

She is actively involved in several national and international clinical research trials covering spectrum of conditions like, inflammation and malnutrition, diabetic nephropathy, hypertension, post renal transplant infections, hyperphosphatemia, and immunosuppression in post-renal transplant recipients, She has written two books one is “Textbook of Nutrition and Kidney Disease” and the other is “Nutritional Guide For Renal Disease: What Patient Wants To Know”.
